By no means did Jesus teach that the Holy Ghost was another Person. Jesus said, “The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things…” John 14:26. Again Jesus said, “…if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. John 16:7. Also Jesus said, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:18. Compare John 14:26 with John 16:7; Jesus spoke of the Father and Himself as ONE. Compare John 14:26 with John 14:18. Jesus spoke of the Holy Ghost and Himself as ONE. Since the Father and Jesus are one, and Jesus and the Holy Ghost are one: then the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are ONE. The Holy Spirit is referred to as “He.” But that should come as no surprise since the Father and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. Besides, God is referred to as “He” throughout entire the Bible. (Also compare the following Scriptures which show that the Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are ONE: Matthew 10:20, Mark 13:11, Luke 21:15.)
The Bible says the Father and Jesus are ONE. The Bible says Jesus and the Holy Spirit are ONE. And the Bible says the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost are ONE. Those who try to create a separate “person” by Jesus’ reference to “another” Comforter in John 14:16 fail to acknowledge and/or understand that the Holy Spirit living in the hearts of believers throughout the entire New Testament Church Dispensation (as opposed to God manifested in flesh living among believers during that time) is another form of God -NOT another “person” of God.
