Tongues

Acts 2:4 << when we receive the gift

of the Holy Spirit it will be experienced

by us just as they experienced it…

With speaking in other tongues.

Yes, it is absolutely necessary.. and it

will become obvious when we look to

the Word of God.

James 3:8

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an

unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Matthew 12:37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified,

and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

So….If one does not submit their tongue

to the power of God, and let the Holy Spirit speak through them… then that tongue is still ,and will remain …an unruly evil full of deadly poison ,and WILL condemn them.

In the Book of James it compares the tongue to the small Rudder of a boat, and how that small rudder can control the great big ship…

Also it talks about putting a bit in the mouth

of a horse, and how you can control that powerful animal by the bit in its mouth….

This is what the Holy Spirit can do for us.

When we submit our most unruly member

to the power of God ,and surrender our

control to His Lordship.

Matthew 15:11

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

It goes back to the heart…

Jeremiah 17:9

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Matthew 12:34

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Matthew 15:11

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

…but when we submit all to God,

(John 3:3,Acts 2:38-40) surrender to Him ,

and give him complete control.

Ezekiel 36:26-27

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Romans 5:5

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

So ,God Almighty giving us a new heart,

writing His law( judgements) in our hearts,

and shedding His love abroad in our hearts.. will be heard…

John 7:37-39

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…(Matt 12:34)… so if the Holy Spirit

of the Lord is in our heart, He will speak through our mouths !!

Acts 2:4

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 10:45-46a

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

Acts 19:2-6a

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues,…

1 Corinthians 14:2

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Romans 8:26-39

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

1 Corinthians 14:15 – What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Jude 1:20 – But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

1 Corinthians 14:4a-

He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself;

Ephesians 6:18

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Beloved, let the Holy Spirit make

intercession for you ,because we cannot

even pray as we ought….

Remember James 3:8 ?

“But the tongue can no man tame; it is an

unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”

Please… give it to God, everything,

Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit…

let Him speak through you.

Matthew 12:37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified,

and by thy words thou shalt

be condemned.
