So in their eyes how are the presents getting under the tree?
By teaching them about the real St. Nicholas they are teaching them the practice of necromancy (which the Bible forbids in Deuteronomy 18:11)! They are in essence teaching their kids that the spirit of this dead man is coming to their home to leave gifts. Or, that the mythological Santa is a channel for the real St. Nicholas. Any type of communication or interaction with the dead is forbidden by God!
Santa is also supposed to know everything you have done and judge you on the list he has made of your works. Does this sound familiar? Revelation 20:12: And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
